One of the many challenges I often face is finding a good source of inspiration. I have wasted many hours away simply staring at the wall or a blank piece of paper trying to conjure a good idea. In some instances, the rare flicker of inspiration withers away before I have time to act upon it.
These are but a few of the scenarios that have happened throughout my life. In order to find a solution to this, I decided to ask everyone in the office how they stay inspired:
Analyze Your Challenge
The first step to finding inspiration is figuring out exactly what you need to do. Take some time to sit down, figure out what the challenge is, and write down any specific requirements to start your game plan.
Take a Walk
There is nothing better than going out for a nice stroll. After hours of sitting and working, going for a walk can clear your mind and it’s always good to get some fresh air.
Browse the Internet
Inspiration is strewn across the web, you just have to know where to look. There are tons of great websites and resources for you to scour and it’s all at your fingertips. Just be careful to not spend too much time doing research or you might waste the day away.
Keep Working
Something great will surely spring up if you just keep churning out ideas. Whether you use it or not doesn’t matter. Why, you ask? Well, take a look at my next point.
Revisit Old Ideas
Remember all those ideas you had for one project that didn’t pan out? It might be time to revisit them. Just because an idea didn’t work for one project, doesn’t mean it won’t for another.
Listen to Music
If all that work didn’t pay off, it might be time to just sit back, relax, and listen to some chill tunes. Take a well-deserved break to listen to music and get those creative juices flowing.
Coffee
Speaking of creative juices, when you run out of them just brew up some more with a nice cup of joe. Refueling can help bring back your energy and inspiration, not to mention the focus and energy you will gain from drinking a cup of coffee.
